Boeing Magic
I love the places that my job takes me, and I love the people I meet when I get there. Photographing the team that keeps Boeing running (and flying) was incredible. Going into one of the simulators was a bucket-list item and having a go at landing a triple seven a lifetime memory!

Discover! With Discover

Recently I “discovered” that I love working with amazing people, while shooting a fun campaign that celebrates life’s firsts, along with the awesome folks at Discover Card and Orphan Editorial!
Take a look at the Miami Vice style BTS they put together here ➡️
- You can see what I did there right haha ;) -
University of Miami Marine Campus
I know we are blasted with bad news on a daily basis, but it’s important to remember that there are good people everywhere doing amazing things to help solve the worlds biggest problems. And if you are looking for some faith in humanity (I always am!) then look no further than Virginia Key FL. The work being done at UM RSMAS (The Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science) blows me away.
They want to play a leading role in the development of sustainable seafood, yellowtail snapper (delicious!) is just one of nearly 10 different species, including flounder, mahi-mahi (can’t go to the FL Keys without a Mahi sandwich and a cold one), red snapper, cobia, almaco jack, Nassau grouper, hogfish, and even stone crabs. They are working to find the most cost-effective and environmentally sound methods to raise seafood in aquaculture facilities, and then just share the knowledge with the industry! So that you and I can eat delicious seafoodie-goodness sustainably. OH YEAH!
They are also working on coral propagation and restoration (extremely necessary to help with the recovery of threatened coral species), ways to increase the resilience of corals in coastal communities, making them more resilient to bleaching and they study the effects of waves and wind with a massive wind-wave-storm simulator that can run a range of experiments about how wind and waves interact during hurricanes, as well as decipher how hurricane landfalls can impact coastal communities, structures, and ecosystems.
WOW, what a day!!

Welcome to the University of Miami

It has been my absolute pleasure to spend a handful of days this past fall at the University of Miami. The UM Division of Development and Alumni Relations was eager to rebuild their library with images of student life, educational moments and a plethora of stories that tell the tale of just how amazing UM is.
With, by far, the most fun team of creative individuals, I have been more than happy to oblige these last few months, capturing images of every campus and the student experience therein.
We did budget for multiple scout days, so we weren’t waiting around for happy accidents, but we also planned some time to do just that for spontaneity. Curated by UM’s inhouse team and Select Services, we were able to organize shots of students in their classrooms, residential areas, public areas and many great backdrops around campus.

Science mode activated! - Amazing People at M.I.T.
I recently went to Boston for a project at MIT Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research, more specifically portraits of their Intramural faculty members. These amazing folks do incredible work that gives me faith in humanity.
I know this is not everyone’s cuppa-tea but my love of science and all things technology gets excited by, “transcription and RNA splicing, extracellular matrices, trolled-release films and nanoparticles… even… long-term and controlled-release drug delivery systems” wow!
The future is bright!
Thank you for having me MIT, it was a total blast.
Norwegian and Think Twice Media
I struggle to slap a coat of paint on to a bedroom wall but Brazilian artist Ernesto Kunde @kundeart takes rolling to a whole new level!
Kunde, the winner of the Norwegian Cruise Lines Call to Artists contest, painted this mural on the Norwegian Cruise Line terminal at PortMiami.
The initiative called on all emerging and established South Florida artists to submit original artwork to be considered for the mural. Each year, the program resets and a new mural design is selected, allowing the Company and The Nader Museum, to continue supporting South Florida artists for years to come.
The multi-story original masterpiece inspired by Miami’s coveted mangroves, is visible to all as it is showcased on the Company’s new state-of-the-art terminal at PortMiami. Kunde becomes the first winner of the Call to Artists contest, securing the $100,000, a 10-day artist residency at the Artist Loft on Oceania Cruises and the honor of having his artwork displayed at NCL’s terminal for a year.
It was a great pleasure to photograph his process!

Nassau County Transit - The NICE Bus
Nice Bus, Nice People, Nice Shoot, Nice Photos? Yeah Baby :)
The folks at Nassau County Transit needed photography of everything from product, to service to people. The employees couldn’t have been more accomodating, the riders were more than friendly, and the entire project ran as smooth as you would expect from a group of really nice people.

Breezeline: Highwires and Forklifts
After a total corporate rebrand, Breezeline commissioned me to showcase their workforce environment. At Breezeline they like to say “there is no ego to get in the way” - I couldn’t agree more!
I loved helping Breezeline showcase their employees, a broad-based group of individuals as diverse as the communities they proudly serve.
Working with Breezeline, was a breeze! (yeah, you see what I did there)
Hope you like the pics as much as I loved going up in the bucket HAHA!!
Best Steve,

Moving with TransDev Employees
Working with TransDev is always a treat, the employees are from so many different backgrounds and all work together to move the people of Raleigh Durham around. TransDev requests photos of them doing their jobs and getting people where they need to go and I am happy to oblige! :)
They also make great crew members when production needs a little extra help! Thanks Byron for the Assist!!

Space Force Goes Zero G!
Photographing the US Space Force in Zero G.
During June of 2022, I had the privilege to join the US Space Force on two Zero Gravity flights. The flights are part of a program that allows Space Force Cadets to become accustomed to the challenges of working in a zero gravity environment.
If you want to train a sailor you take them out to sea, if you want to train a pilot, you take then to the skies, well if you want to train a Space Force Cadet you have to do some parabolas!
So much learning, fun and photographs were had by all!
TransDev Atlanta Day 2
So many great shots from the TranDev Atlanta shoot, I had to split it into two posts!
This is Day two at Atlanta South, a multi million dollar facility with plenty of brand new buses and equipment. Great for photos!

TransDev Atlanta - Day 1
As usual we had a very productive day shooting for TransDev, this time at their Atlanta North facility. The Gwinnett County Transit folks gave us a brand new bus, literally less than 100 miles on the clock! mmmmm love that new-bus-smell! Hahaha :)

Working with Arnie Weissmann - Editor in Chief Travel Weekly
I love to see my work in print (it happens less and less in these interwebz times) and thanks to Arnie Weissman, the intrepid editor in chief at Travel Weekly, some of my Zero G images were in the October edition of Travel Weekly.
There was a cool moment during this flight which Arnie explains in his piece.
“In addition to the excitement of the flight, there was an unexpected bonus: A couple got engaged while weightless. The man had shared his plans with the crew ahead of time, and they warned him to tie a string to the ring — on a previous flight, a ring had floated away from a nervous boyfriend.”
Here are some of the images from the moment:

Blade Helicopters & Zero Gravity
I shot this just for fun during our flights with Blade in Manhattan, it was so cool flying in the helicopters back and forth to New York City.

Helping Speedy Morman Survive for Complex.com
Helping Speedy Morman Survive The “Vomit Comet” & Become an Astronaut in Zero Gravity for Jobs Unlisted on Complex.com
Being an astronaut is not for everyone and micro gravity does have a habit of sorting who has what it takes to function in space. I’ve often heard astronauts say that parabolic flights are harder on the system than the weightlessness of orbit.
I shot for Complex.com recently with Speedy Norman where he tests his grit as an astronaut. Watch the video below to find out how he did.
The Zero-G "Vomit Comet" is certainly not for everyone. On the Season 3 premiere of "Jobs Unlisted," Speedy takes on the difficulties of becoming an astronaut—from performing a space walk, to landing a NASA spacecraft, and even a tailspin simulator—but it's zero gravity that poses the biggest challenge. Is the job of an Astronaut as glamorous as one might think? Check out the episode and decide for yourself.
PS fast forward to 15:39 to see my foot-assist!

Fun with Frames - Smart Mirror from ACEP
I spent a great day highlighting why the Smart Mirror device is a far superior, modern option for opticians to take measurements for your eyeglasses. Especially in these Covid times where proximity is an issue. Thank-you Marisol, Kelly and Fransisco for being such great models.

Forest Walk - A Personal Project
In the middle of August during a getaway in the Airstream and, living up the the saying that only mad-dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun, I went for a very hot and sticky forest walk with my son, yes during the afternoon heat.
We needed to shower off and cool down after this one, it was slightly humid at 96f/35.6c, feels like 103f/39.4c. Can you find the monkey hiding in the tree? Hint: it’s not a real monkey, but apparently we have them in Florida. Apparently, there are several locations with monkeys in Florida, Silver Springs has quite a population.
And there are actually monkeys living by Fort Lauderdale International Airport. A whole family with an adopted raccoon! #onlyinFlorida
Shooting in Denver Colorado for Transdev
This week I'm finishing up the edit for @transdevgroup and our shoot in Denver, CO.
Ive been working with the Transdev team to demonstrate how they are keeping passengers moving and safe during the Covid pandemic. It was incredible to see them work.
The drivers, cleaners, dispatch staff and maintenance crews at all public transportation facilities are among many essential, front-line workers whose services to the community are easy to overlook. I'm happy to spotlight how these individuals help improve our communities with their work.
This is the first of a few upcoming jobs for TransDev that I have coming up, I will post more of the results here. Watch this space!
Working through Covid-19 and Ready to Rock n Roll
Working in the COVID-19 world…
The current pandemic is changing the way we all live our lives and the way we work.
Remote Shooting with screen sharing and on set camera..
I have made all the necessary preparations for photo shoots in the COVID-19 world. The video above was shot during a portrait session for Bucknell University, all crew confirmed that they had been practicing social distancing for three weeks minimum, and were taking full safety measures. Face masks and disposable booties were worn at all times, we washed our hands and/or hand sanitized frequently. We followed the Recommendations for Clean & Healthy Production Sets by Film Florida.
Luckily I have worked remotely with overseas clients in the past, this set up now takes on new importance due to COVID-19, but the industry in general will also benefit. Bucknell staffers were able to monitor the shoot in real time from their home-offices, both as the shots came in and as it was being set up.
The Client was able to edit and monitor the shoot remotely in real time.
